EVOMS Retains the
Porsche 996TT World Record of 231.4MPH

Tempe, AZ - Evolution MotorSports rolled into the Texas Mile event with sights on backing up and surpassing their performance in March of this year at the same event. The EVOMS built 1200 HP 996TT set a new record 0-300KM time of 14.41 seconds vs. a 0-300KM of 15.95 seconds set in this same vehicle in March.
Zuccone feels this car is capable of a sub 14-second 0-300KM time and a 1-mile speed in excess of 240 MPH.
Evolution MotorSports entered the 1200+ HP Porsche 996TT GTχχχχ owned by Joe Gargano of New York now dubbed “Bad Influence.” This world record holding vehicle has had several updates to performance and safety since its record setting run of 231 MPH in March. Due to a sunroof malfunction which caused the car to spin out of control at 220+ MPH during the first “shake-down” run, the car was unable to make any further attempts at setting another Porsche speed record. Future attempts will be made in the next few months where 240 MPH is the target for the new record.

Zuccone continues, "Our experience in building over two hundred 996 Twin Turbo engines has enabled us to develop and prove our components and engine building procedures. Our engines are engineered using components and techniques that have never been used in a flat 6 Porsche engine. We literally re-invented the wheel, which our recent success clearly demonstrates. We are just beginning to demonstrate all of our experience and still have more technology to reveal in due time.

Pursuit of Top Speed: The pursuit of Top Speed records has a bit of voodoo mixed into it. The EVOMS standard is to watch what acceptable standards are in the European performance community. With the EVOMS GTχχχχ measuring 0-300KM in 14.4 seconds, EVOMS expects that the European tuners may be watching the USA for their standards.
Previous top speed records were held by a lightweight 964 turbo which conquered the mile in 228 MPH and a European 993 turbo race car which ran a 0-300 KM distance in 16.9 seconds.
